Eight arms. Eight flavors. Never nine.
Purpo turned bright green all by himself. The gelato is olive green because it’s pistachios.

Today’s eight. Tap one to jump in.
Purpo changes color, so the gelato doesn’t have to.
An octopus can turn any color he likes. Gelato shouldn’t. Ours gets its color from what it’s made of, which is why our pistachio looks like pistachio and not like a traffic light.
Pistacchio
Purpo: bright green, showing off. The gelato: olive green, because that’s what Bronte pistachios look like.
Fragola
Purpo: hot pink. The gelato: strawberry pink, with seeds, because it’s strawberries.
Cielo
Purpo: electric blue. The gelato: a soft sky blue from spirulina, and a ribbon of honey.
Tana! Purpo is hiding in every flavor.
“Tana!” is what Italian kids shout when they find someone in hide-and-seek. Purpo has turned the same color as each flavor below. Spot his eyes, tap him, and shout it. Find him eight times and the ninth flavor is yours.
- 1Look for two little eyes.

Never nine. Officially.
Purpo has eight arms, so there are eight flavors. There is no ninth. Unless you find him eight times, in which case there is, and it’s called Inchiostro.

Real gelato hides under a lid.
Those tall, glossy mountains in shop windows need extra air and stabilizers to stand up. Ours sits flat in round steel wells called pozzetti, under a lid, away from light and warm air. It stays dense, and it tastes like the thing it’s made of.
We churn slowly, in small batches, every morning, so less air gets in.
The honest receipt.
